Overall a good phone, shame about battery life |

As usual, wonderful service from Merimobiles.
The Star A5000 is a marked improvement on usability from my Samsung B7722 which would lock up constantly.
Having access to Android Marketplace on the device is great. The USB-based charging cable is ideal for travel.
The A5000 can be a little sluggish running Froyo. (The "Swiftkey" keyboard is slow on the A5000.)
May main concern is the battery life. Over 10 hours the battery would dwindle down to under 20% (mostly standby, w/data-only use).
I am tryings apps from android marketplace that extend the battery life (by managing data connections when the unit is on standby).
The unit does come with two batteries (appreciated), but it's not the most practical solution. Can you charge the 2nd battery without using the phone?
Does anyone know of an alternative (extended) battery for this unit?
I would like to be able to depend on using the GPS and data features of this phone when travelling.
ANSWER: thank you for taking the time to post a review on the unit, you do get alot for the price on this little android phone, there is no other batteries at present for this phone, perhaps on the next version they will put a more powerfull battery thanks
