After a month and a half to finally get my Newman N1, excellent phone faster and smoother. When you insert your SIM card and turn I've taken tremendous disappointment when he did not raise my operator Movistar 3G (850/1900), I have tried everything without success, searching the internet I came across it only supports 3G 900/2100 (Digitel Venezuela).

My trouble is that on January 2, 2013 before bidding ask them if the phone bands bear my operator and his answer was "Yes, the 3G band is what we've writen on this page".

There will be some way or solution to activate 3G bands 850/1900 since it rooteado request, I tried to activate but result mobileuncle

Wanted a Jaiyu G3 but there seemed to be too many issues. This fitted the bill as alternative as I haven't seen a bad review. Completed root sequence on first boot. Nice phone to look at with the right size in this world of phablets that can't fit my pocket. Crisp display although it's too dark when set to auto brightness. More realistic looking images than AMOLED. True android market. Call quality is good from bothends and the built in speaker is decent. Haven't actually taken any pictures yet but camera autofocuses quickly and images displayed from camera on screen are vivid. Fast turn around by merimobiles and received in about three weeks through Singapore post. Items shipped by Merimobiles though SingPost seem to be faster than items shipped from other vendors through same (months). Merimobiles website is great since you can add all accessories available for item from one page including the rooting service which saved me the risk. Customer service is good too. My only issue with the order is the white silicone protective case that was sent. White is a very bad colour for something like a phone that is constantly being handled and it's already looking awful. Have since ordered a black one. Oh and I got a free gift too. :-)

Good phone but some flaws

As a phone very good, clear sound and good reception. Good wifi reception. The 2 SIM feature is great and works very well.

But 3G connection is very weak, at least using the 1900MHz band it connects to 3G only in just a few places in the city (while other phones connect to 3G all over the city with no problems). Android 4.04 OK (only English and chinese), not too fast but good enough. Another annoying flaw is that every time you reboot the phone, it comes up with different MAC Adress for the wifi connection.

Despite a long wait and not getting colour I asked for, this phone has met my high expectations of an android 4.0 phone. Front facing notification LED, fast interface with ample storage for apps means I can use all the apps I want and have got used to on my Asus TF201 tablet. Works with my 2° sim and also works with 2nd Telecom XT sim including data :)

I'm from Venezuela, my provider uses the band 850-1900 (2100 soon LTE) for 3G connection. My question is if this phone supports these bands (as you specify), and I have consulted other websites and specifies that the bands used for 3G 900-2100.

They can send the invoice for an amount less than U.S. $ 100, so to avoid customs fees.

I took a chance with this phone and I'm glad I did. The specs and the phone are very much as they say on the website and it works very effectively as a dual SIM Android 4.0 phone.

Also the service provided by Merimobiles was very good. There was a delay so to compensate they provided a screen cover, extra battery and case! Very happy overall.

the N1 was my prefered device. I was not disappointed. almost all I read, what advertised will be. only I ordered phone with german language I missed. all following mails about language topic are answered, without right solution. the OS is only english or chinese! thought android 4.0.4 is multi-language? but later, got a germ-language *.apk, without can read OS settings in german or other language. now try to root and update my new N1, but be not sure how to do.. searching for instructions during time, HAPPY NEW YEAR u all far away:-)
