    The tablet just rebooted one day and then when it rebooted it gets stuck on the ainol screen with the flashing colours. I would send it back to merimobles but the postage costs are excessive from New Zealand.

    after owning not just about a year, sudenly didn't turn on, I try to reset it to factory default , however no joy.DO NOT buy it. same your money for something more reliable.

    Received my Ainol Novo 7 in fine condition last week, but your promised firmware update has vanished. I saw a link last night, but not there's no tab anywhere to access ANY firmware updates. What happened?? The product deserves a higher rating if you can deliver the update.

    Pros awesome, insane battery, plug play USB seems to be working well still testing but I have heard other using flash drives and some other USB device's, I have used personally used wireless USB mousezkeyboard, mp3 player,which it charged , and a flashdrive with no problems a Confirmed working list on 1.8 if u received yours from here u will have to update your firmware ,go to slatedroid.com novo7advanced section voice to text Voice search Free texting apk with free phone number works well textplus games alot of them PlayStation 1 emulators N64 emulators USB host plug in and work flashdrive,mouse mp3 player GPS and 3g 1080p HDMI out 2160p HDMI out.     I ordered this on Oct. 17. It took 2 weeks to ship the order and I've already waited 1 week for the order to arrive. There is still no sign it is anywhere close. I live in Vancouver and this company is based in Montreal. I did not expect it to take SO long for my order to arrive. Customers should beware...

    I received the tablet and straight out of the box is was really fast and slick at doing everything, playing games(asphalt 5) but then it seemed after a week and a half everything has changed, asphalt 5 is no longer a smooth to play and i can't even bare it now! even just browsing through the files using file manager is freezing a bit. I dont know if it was because i install the lastest firmware or because it now has a memory card(16GB class 10) in it or what! if you could help in anyway i would be Grateful. P.S. I haven't filled the memory up I have a few games and a couple of apps and the rest came with it.

    For the first month I had this product I couldn't even connect to any internet with it, but with the new 1.8 firmware and a few WIFI fixer apps it has been doing much better now. My only problem is that they sent me the wrong case and I have yet to receive the proper one even though it's been over a month since it was "supposedly" sent and the tracking number they provided doesn't correlate with any of the shipping services so I can't track it at all. The customer service they provided has been sub-par as well, and not conducive to customer satisfaction. Once I receive my case however, and hopefully have a more positive interaction with customer service, I will change this review to reflect that

  28. Good tablet for the money

    Good build & performance. The vibrate device inside starting rattling. Contacted Merimobiles (quick response) and was told this was normal but given the option of returning. Not wanting to wait a month I decided to fix the problem. Removed four screws in each corner behind square tabs and sticky tape. Prised casing sides apart. This wasn't easy. Careful not to put pressure on the ribbon cables located the vibrate device - button-like widget next to speaker. This had come out of it's mounting, only held in place by pressure. Dabbed glue underneath, replaced and put electrical tape over the top. Put tablet back together and all is now good. Note: doing this will invalidate any warranty. It's also easy to damage the casing. Do this at your own risk. I haven't seen anyone else have this issue but thought it worth mentioning. Merimobiles may want to notify Ainol of this issue. I suggest upgrading the firmware and running Tasselhof's script to set up the tablet. Just Google for this.

    The tablet currently runs at 1ghz not 1.5ghz, the remote doesn't work and further more the WiFi is b/g and does not support N. The tablet itself is well put together and the weight is a lot better than the Herotab C8. With minor firmware modifications this runs better than a C8 and the 3D gaming is superb although it seems to have problems with the audio/video sync lol. Good device but could be better :)!

  32. Novo 7 better then expected

    I received my Novo 7 a little over 1 week ago and was surprised by it performance given the purchase price of 139 which I paid. I was so impressed with it in fact I brought it in to work to show around and since then at least 4 people I work with have all placed orders for one. The battery in this little tablet is amazing I get 6-7 hours out of it with brightness at 50% and wifi on. The only negative I have is the WIFI itself. Even with 2 feet of the router I only get 3 bars and if I am 2 rooms away it drops the connection on me. IF it had better Wifi hardware this would be the perfect little tablet and would outshine all the competition in the 7" form factor. I even prefer this tablet over the Acer Iconia100, Its sleeker smaller and just as snappy.

I'll have to say I was initially disappointed as it took longer than expected for the item to be shipped out of Merimobiles. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I receive the package just four days later. All in all, it took 13 days from the day I placed my order to the day I hold it in my hand. That's a pretty good comeback from Merimobiles, and I'll have to say you now have one more happy and satisfied customer who will not hesitate to recommend your service. On top of that, I've also noticed an additional bubble wrap over the device itself and one more bubble wrap over the entire box. That shows that you care, and ensure that the item is well protected for the longer international shipment and will be in good condition when it reach your customer.     EDIT: No there is nothing in there. I opened it because of desperation and there is nothing that is stuck on the volume controls. I'm suspecting it is the touch buttons volume up and down. Can you atleast give me a pcb schematic so I can just cut the god damn volume.

    It's great but I do not have access to the full market app with the latest firmware 1.8 downloaded from merimobiles. Any pointers? Skype is not available through market. Also if you are in spain then a custom duty of 66 Euros will be charged to import the tablet.

    Oh wow what great tablets, were do i start, i ordered on a thursday and had to wait a week for sorting out i think this is due to high sales but i did not mine, i got tracking numbers and checked with dhl ( payed the extra with christmas coming up) and i never had any probs with well packed...my hubby put the firmware on and works great i really enjoyed the games the screen is glass and the best of all it is nice to hold not like some i have had hold of...my hunny has the ipad i think is crap but give me a novo 7 any day and price is great too,, that good we have 3 novo 7 oreded for are older children for christmas and birthdays in jan....if you are unsure about ordering dont the company was great always there for chat on live and always told me what was going on with my order........THERE ALWAYS A DOWN SIDE the remote dont work but i dont think the kids will mind that much im a happy shopper and will be order more for christmas.

    I ordered this tablet for the sale price of $140 and even selected the free shipping too. I could hardly believe I was signing for it only 12 days later in the eastern US. Merimobiles, you rock! The tablet came with fw 1.5.1. Updating to the newest version is easy and highly recommended. The 1.8T with enhanced UI works and looks great. (Language resets to Chinese tho!) Couldn't get any usb drivers to work at first for rooting but then found PDAnet v3.02. Then it connected and rooted first time with Tasselhofs auto-script pkg from SlateDroid. You guys rock too! This is an amazing deal for under $150. Everything works great too, no wi-fi or camera problems at all. An awesome tablet with solid specs for a price that almost anyone can afford. Definitely recommended!

    Received my tablet a couple of days ago, and I wanted to write and say how happy i am with this machine. First thing to do is to update the latest firmware - Slatedroid web site is brilliant for lots of help on this and other topics on this tablet. The 7 inch keyboard works great with latest firmware. Skype is also working brilliant - both cameras work in a skype call, you can switch between front and back camera DURING a call. Gaming is good - am playing Asphalt 6, and playstaion and nintendo 64 emulators fine. Wifi hotspot tethering with my windows mobile phone is also great. And I was surprised at how many programs I can have running at the same time and easily switch between them. This is a very good tablet, and the great price just makes it even more so. And it was delivered to New Zealand in a week - brilliant stuff. Cheers

    After almost 2 months (mostly due to Canada Post's mix up) I finally received my tablet. I am quite happy with it. Screen is responsive and clear. Camera works in Skype. The speaker is surprisingly good. I do have a problem with the charger that came with it. Its tip does not seem to match the socket on the tablet. Hence, I cannot use it. Can you send me a replacement?

    I ordered in 11/28. Received message of shipping on 12/3. Showed up on tracking page on 12/6. Tracking info was never updated, once. But without fanfare the package arrived on 12/12. Exactly 14 days after I ordered, including weekends. I was shocked and pleased. It was about 60% charged when I unpacked it. They included a pair of capacitive gloves FREE that were not mentioned in the ad. It seems to work fine. Screen is very responsive even while the protective film is still on it. It was easy to hook up to my Wireless network. Seems to operate well. Noticing some crackling from the speakers. I'll check back once I've figured it out more.

Everything is smooth, fast, wifi connected right away, i am going to update the firmware, but right out of box was able to go on market, download angry birds...havent playd it on anything nicer, screen is very responsive.     All I have to say is WOW! i received this package on December 9, 2011 expecting that I'd have to update the current firmware, but to my surprise it came with the updated firmware version 2.0!!! I'm definitely happy with the purchase and it came really fast with the optional DHL shipping. I have had the chance to upload various apps on it with ease and the 5 points capacitive screen works smooth like butter. My daughter will love this tablet as i bought this as a gift.     Super quick delivery! Packaging looks great. You could almost see this in a UK shop apart from the few parts of chinese on the box. /Very high quality! No cheap plastics at all. Very nice almost metalic finsihed to to the material. Buttons etc all feel secure and in place./ Screen is clear and vibrate. Viewing angles are great for this price range./ I updated to 1.8t for the enhanced UI as it looks nicer than the stock but I've just realised that anyone can probably add this UI by buying EDW launcher from the Market./It runs very well and is very smooth between screens/net, etc. The one thing I have noticed is the wifi range isn't great but I knew this before buying. This should be fixed with future software updates./Stock market has a good selection of apps. Not all apps are present but you can download them from the Amazon app store./In all I'm very impressed with this tablet. It's for a xmas present and I'm sure they are going to be very happy with it.

But i can only get 10 seconds of WiFi !! i tried updating Firmware ( very easy by the way ! ) to 1.72 then 1.8 then back to 1.72 and still only 10 seconds of WiFi then i have to restart WiFi ... not possible to use it.     First that need to be reminded is that this is a Chinese Android Tablet that was not made to be an excellent tablet but a good and cheap one. The cons: Screen is a 7 inches 800*480 with bad bottom angle. Up and sides are good. Touchscreen response is ok, not as good as a Galaxy Tab which cost 300$ more. WIFI reception is weak but workable. Heavy. The goods: It’s quick. With a Dual Core 1ghz CPu with 512mb or ram most of the apps will play with proper tweaking. Flash is playing good. Movies are playing great. Build quality is excellent. Easy to upgrade and Android Market is included in Firmware 2.0T. Speakers are loud at max. Thoughts: If you want to bring the full potential of this tablet, you knew to root it and change a few setting so you can make it run additional apps. (SlateDroid Forums contains all the info). Also, a very thin and difficult to see plastic film is on the back camera. Conclusion: If you need a cheap alternative to a High-end tablet, this one is for you.

    PROS ==== + thin bezel, lightweight. + plays MKV file, in fact, it can play any video files i have + HDMI outputs 1080p as advertised! + usb host and microSDHC for expansion CONS ==== - wifi signal is extremely poor. although software update 2 has improved a little bit - audio delay when watching video. about .5 second of audio delay in any movies. - screen is awful. if you tilt the tablet more than 30 degrees, everything disappear. so viewing together with friends on the tablet is impossible. - sound quality is not good. im not an audiophile. all my mp3 are encoded high. but on this tablet, sound quality is worse than an ipod. (ipod already sounds bad). even though i use my own Klipsch headphones, sound quality is noticeably bad. summary: ======== for the price, it is ok. if you intend to watch movies a lot, i wouldnt recommend this tablet. if you intend to surf websites, it can be extremely slow with the bad wifi.

    Bought this tablet for my wife, now I want one as well. PROS: The tablet feels well built, the case it not some flimsy plastic. The battery life is great. The tablet comes with more accessories and cables than a lot of others do, you do not even see remotes with most tablets. The price is a real value, yes you can get one for slightly less but you also loose out on quality. The only tablet with all the specs I was looking for in this price range. Although my wife originally wanted a 10" now she is using it, she won't put it down. CONS: Wrapped with single sheet of bubble wrap, was surprised it made it in one piece. Not gorilla glass (but what do you expect for the price) Took nearly 30 days from ordering. They need to make a 10 inch version for another 50 bucks more. I would still recommend this tablet and merimobiles over any other company however. The price is a good value and you won't be disappointed.

    Excellent product, works greats and as advertised. Browsing the web works great as does reading ebooks, which are the two main uses i bought this for. The only downside I have is the wifi disconnects when ever I press the power button to lock the screen, then i have to go to the wifi settings every time to reconnect.

    I've had this tablet for about 4 weeks now and you won't beat it for the money. Pros:- Running Gingerbread, Plays Flash videos including BBC iplayer, runs Skype with both camera's, touch screen is super responsive, great with 3D games, has full market installed. Cons:- Haptic feedback, but knew about this from forums, I installed Baseband V2 in the first week but found it to be unstable so went back to V1.7 and have had no problems since. Didn't notice any difference when using it, so i'm not sure there is any benefit to V2 against V1.7 anyhow. All round this is a great tablet and I am very impressed by the cost and delivery time from Merimobiles, keep up the good work.

    I was surprised that everything worked as advertised and shipping was faster than my previous orders from China from other companies. This is an excellent tablet the only improvements would require a much higher price (IPS Display). This is a great tablet it rarely leaves my side. Tried the beta Ice Cream, if anyone knows how to install the market that would be great, so I went back to Gingerbread.

    Just purchased this for my wife and daughter to have a android device to play with,besides my phone:). I have to tell you the device so far is AWESOME for the money. Very smooth, comfortable and Solid. It was shipped with 2.3.4 gingerbread and market in english loaded,there is a firmware upgrade but I havent gotten that far yet which leads me to the best part. You will recieve the best customer support from merrimobiles I have not had anything come close to their support very fast response and very helpful. I used the free shipping from china and got the device in 3 weeks which I expected. I will never use another website for online purchase like this, Awesome experience, buy one from merrimobiles you will love it :)

    Very disappointed because I have not received yet this tablet that I ordered last Nov 27, 2011. I envy those from another countries that received theirs is such short period. I chose EMS shipment that says 6-9 days shipping time. I can't even track where it is at this time other than it says it left China since Dec 4.

    Greeting, I just received the tablet,and it is gorgeous,moves very, very well. I am very happy with this tablet. My question is : 1. When Android ICS 4.0 the final version ? 2. What you know about version ICS 4.0 Beta V1 ? Is stable ? 3. If ICS version 4.0 Beta V1 if that is not stable can return to Android 2.3.4 ? and how to do this ? What do you recommend ?     that is what I thougt when I first used the Ainol! When powered on the first time at 17:00, the battery was charged for about 50%. It took till 01:00 when the device powered off after using it the alle evening! The device arrived with DHL in about 10 days to Holland. The device was loaded with the market and version 2.0. I upgraded the market with a downloaded APK. The device acts very, very smooth. Wifi range is more than acceptable for me. Sound, HD pictures and moviesis are very good!The device is big enough for E-reading despite it's weight. Only thing I discovered that didn't function was the charger and the euro-adapter. When I fitted it together, the pins didn't make contact so the device didn't charge the first time. I simply fixed it myself. I'm thinking of buying another one because both my daughters love this advice espacially multiplaying Krazy Karts Game! Thanks, Merimobile for the opportunity to buy it for this price ;-)

    We bought three of these, one for me, my husband and my dad. We did extensive amounts of research and found that for our purposes, this was the best option and we are not disappointed. We all love the tablet! I recommend this tablet!

  117. Cannot stream you tube video with HDMI

    Video will stop after a 30 seconds of playback on TV with HDMI, it's ok without HDMI connection, i.e. if played on the tablet itself, also remote control does not work....

    I Ordered two tablet for my kids for Christmas. I got them pretty fast like two weeks after I did the order. First problem when I wanted to update the firmware, I found out that one tablet was wrong because created a conflict with my computers. Trying to contact customer service is difficult they keep you for hours waiting for an answer. After they authorized me to send it back, I have been waiting for more than a month and I haven't get an answer from them. I am afraid I am going to lose my money. I'll keep you update if I receive back my tablet. Good luck!!

    Saw this on the Deals of the Day section and I thought I had missed it but hey, I live in SE Asia, we are ahead!! Anyway, read the rest of the reviews here if you want to get information. I only have 2 things to say:- 1. MARKET - my version of the Android Market is not what is on my phone. Why is this so? 2. Alternate charger, you can use the micro USB as a charger too, now THAT is fantastic!! Get yourself an Eneloop KBC - L2B and you can charge this when you're on the go! You can charge anything with a micro - USB. Guys, you should have put this information online!! It is fantastic!!

    I received this tablet a few days ago, and I am very pleased with it. Pros: super HD player supports full 1080p, supports most apps I've tried Cons: 1 I contacted merimobiles about the defective wall charger it came with; they never replied. 2 This tablet does NOT support ADW launcher. 3 there is no master on/off option for vibration in the settings. 4 My 8gb model thinks its internal flash memory is a TF card. To elaborate, if I want to move an app from the 1gb of "internal storage" to the 5.7gb of "internal flash storage", I need to select "move to TF card". This may get confusing once I get an actual TF card..
